Well believe it or not, people do actually live like this and today, more and more people are living like this thanks to the internet. The advantages are huge. In the old days if you wanted to be a successful retailer, you often had to buy (or more probably rent) a shop, purchase stock, pay rates, electricity, gas and other utilities bills, clean the property, get up at some unearthly hour to get to your shop and prepare for a days hard work. You then hoped or prayed that someone will walk pass your shop who may potentially be interested in the stock you are selling and make a purchase. You then work all day, and often weekends, to make ends meet. No wonder the high street is struggling. Of course, there are many extremely successful shops on the high street and lots of people who thoroughly enjoy their retail job.
Notwithstanding that, in today’s market the internet is king. The opportunities are open to all. Anyone can start trading from the comfort of their own home. They don’t rely on passing trade, their passing trade is the whole world. They don’t need to rent (or buy) premises and worry about the associated costs involved with bricks and mortar. Also with a retail property, the shop is normally open from say 9am to 6pm. An online shop is open 24/7 as somewhere in the world, someone is shopping. The world never sleeps.
The trick is however to find a hungry market, and exploit a niche within a niche. Firstly, carry out your research. Google keyword is a good tool to start with. Find out the number of people who searching for products within your niche. More than 2,000 a month is good as long as the competition is low. The benefit of Google Keyword tool is that it gives you ideas of other keywords you may not have thought of. Check the popularity of theses keywords. They may be better than the ones you original thought of.
Once you have found a niche with low competition and a good number of people searching it, try and buy a domain name with the keywords in it. This will help with your SEO and your ranking on the search engines.

Next step is the website. Wordpress is free and great if you’re starting out. If you can, send traffic to an opt in page. This way, you can build your database, which as most experts will tell you, is how you really make money.

At this stage, you don’t need your own products to make money. Bearing in mind the cost of producing a quality product, if you’re starting out, the best way may be to become an affiliate and sell other peoples products. Clickbank.com is a good start. Look at their training video for more information. Other ways of making money from your website is by advertisements. Google adwords will pay you every time someone clicks on the add on your website.
The next stage is probably the most difficult and crucial, getting traffic to your website. There are load of ways of getting traffic to your website, social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn), advertising, SEO getting as high as possible on the search engines, writing blogs, articles, backlinks to your webpage which will assist on your search engine ranking and loads more.
If you do follow the above, then it could be you who wakes up in your dream house, eating breakfast in your glorious garden, planning trips all round the world. If you do, don’t forget ME.

I wish you well.
